Join us on Saturday, June 27 for a Hill Creek State Park star party. Important note: The listed date for this event is wrong in the Wellsboro Gazette–it will be on Saturday 6/27, not Sunday 6/28.
We’ll start at dusk, at the park’s nature center. Due to it being near full moon, we’ll be offering both regular telescopes looking at brighter objects (moon, Venus, star clusters and double stars) and one or two smart telescopes projecting the images they are collecting through a projector onto the screen in the nature center’s amphitheater. We’ll also be trying to show the movement of asteroid (152637) 1997 NC1 which will have made its closest approach to the earth just hour earlier.
